Colon cancer - September 11th, 2009

colon cancer is a thought that should be in the back of many peoples mind because it is one of the most common kinds of cancer besides skin and breast cancer. So how do we go about checking to see if we in fact are at risk for this aweful kind of cancer and what can we do about it if we do get it? Lets start with the how do we know if we are at risk. I went online and was looking at tests that you can take home and check to see if you have colon cancer and they were saying that their kit was 93% accurate but I really question this. If you think there may be a chance you have colon cancer or may be someone in your family may have this cancer and you think you may be more acceptable to it then you really should go to your doctor and have him do a test for you or talk to you about what you can do. I would never trust an at home kit to tell me if I may have cancer because if its wrong and you let your cancer go it is more likely you will die than if you were able to catch it early.
